£100 raised for Save the Children

18 Dec 24

During Term 2, Year 8 students study a topic in Geography called “Our Unequal World”. As part of this topic, students investigate the food crisis being faced by the South Sudanese. This year a group of students felt compelled to make a difference and together, 8GX and 8TSb decided to raise some money to donate to Save The Children. A special thanks goes to Rosie who took it upon herself to spend a day in silence and was able to successfully raise £40!

Additionally, on the 18th December, the students held a cake and biscuit sale and raised a further £60! In total, £100 has been donated to savethechildren.org and the money will go towards providing clean water for up to 20 children for a month, as well as cosy blankets for children affected by conflict.

Further thanks go to all students in Year 8 who consistently show great engagement in the subject, with a special thanks going to Logan, Ava, Jayana and Harry for baking some excellent goods, and to all who helped on the day.
