Year 7 September 2025 applications
Applications for next year are made through your Local Education Authority (Kent County Council (KCC) for Kent) and your child's current school will be able to explain the process. Information for Kent parents can also be found on the KCC website under Applying for A Secondary School.
When you complete your Secondary Common Application Form (SCAF) with your preferences by 31st October the following may be useful:
Child assessed as suitable for Selective/Grammar - as your Local Education Authority look at your preferences in the order you have put them on your SCAF if your child wants to join us then you MUST put Chatham & Clarendon Grammar School 8865462 first to stand the best chance of securing a place with us.
If you are applying under either of the criterion on the Supplementary Form below please complete a form and send it to Mrs Hurrell along with your evidence at the Chatham Site address. NB: You only need to complete a form if applying under the criterion.
Child assessed as suitable for High/All Ability School - at this present time your child cannot be considered for a place by a grammar school therefore you need to place High/All ability Schools as preferences to secure a place for September. If you subsequently have a successful appeal to a grammar school you would then decline the place.
If you wish to appeal to us, you cannot appeal until after 3rd March 2025 however to appeal at that time you do need to place us as a preference on the SCAF. Please note that it does not matter where you place us on the SCAF just that you do.
If you are considering an appeal you may fine the following of assistance.

For Information:
Nearly New Uniform - we no longer hold a stock of second-hand uniform however the Schoolwear Centre in Margate now maintains a 'bank' of donated blazers, jumpers and skirts. The Uniform Bank can be accessed from their website: schoolwearcentre.net where you can search and pay for items under CCGS Preloved Uniform.
Parent/carers can either donate items direct to the Schoolwear Centre or bring them into any of our School Receptions for us to pass on.
Please note that the bank does not stock PE items. Our PE Department keeps a small stock of donated items which students can use.
