Welcome
Welcome to Chatham & Clarendon Grammar School (formerly Chatham House and Clarendon House Grammar Schools). Chatham House and Clarendon House have a long history of providing high quality education in Thanet. Generations of young people have flourished at the two schools and in due course many have chosen to send their own children to Chatham & Clarendon.
The school continues to move with the times, embracing new approaches to learning, technology and developing a progressive, outward-looking curriculum, preparing our students well for the inevitable challenges of change which the 21st century will bring. The foundations for our success are also firmly rooted in traditional values, not tradition for its own sake but values which have stood the test of time:
- High aspirations, hard work and achievement. The belief that every student is capable of achieving a high degree of academic success.
- Respect. The highest standards of behaviour, characterised by mutual respect – between students, and between students and staff.
- Responsibility & self-discipline. Developing maturity and growing leadership qualities by giving responsibility.
- Participation and enjoyment. Involvement in the wider life of the school, healthy competition and strong emphasis on teamwork.
Choosing the right school – the school which is right for the individual child – is one of the most important decisions you will ever have to make. Whenever we ask prospective parents what they want from a school for their children, they tell us that above all they want their children to be safe, happy and successful. I believe that ours is a happy and supportive school with a dedicated staff focused on providing the best for your children and getting the best from them, a school which achieves high standards. Words and pictures may help to summarise what Chatham & Clarendon Grammar School can offer but there is no substitute for seeing a school as it really is on a normal working day, and talking with the students and staff – visitors are always welcome.
