Flying Lessons at RAF Wittering
20th June 2022
CCF cadets were recently taking to the skies again at RAF Wittering for what was in many cases, their first flying lesson.
Aerobatics were performed, and thanks to perfect weather conditions, the flights lasted a good long while.
Using the base at the same time as our section was the University Air Squadron of Cambridge, whose pilots were able to talk about both their flying and their degree studies.
RAF Atlas air transport aircraft were also using the runway for exercises, which gave the cadets an insight to some of the tasks that the UK deploys such resources around the world for.
More cadets are scheduled to fly again in a few weeks, this time at RAF Cranwell.
