NCS Graduation & celebration event Dreamland

17th September 2018

Chatham & Clarendon Grammar School have been awarded ‘Champion School’ status by the National Citizen Service (NCS) to reward their commitment to the UK’s flagship youth programme for 16 and 17 year olds.

NCS is a four week programme which takes place during the school holidays and thanks to government backing costs a maximum of £50 to take part in. The programme provides students with the opportunity to meet other local young people from a range of backgrounds, live independently, and develop the skills that universities and employers value, whilst giving back to their local community.

Tobi “An excellent opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and learn essential life skills.”

Tulasi “I think it is better when you do not know anyone. You are then in a situation to make friends and do things outside of your comfort zone.”

“Week 1 was the toughest because you have to do activities like climbing a rope ladder and trust people who you have not known that long with the rope.”

“Week 2 was the best. The social action was good as you help the community and interact with the public. “

Ryan “Great welcoming atmosphere with engaging activities to improve communication and team work skills.”
