Maths In Motion Awards and Hope for Global Challenge Success

29th March 2018

The annual Maths in Motion club awards took place on 20th March with prizes being presented by Head of Maths, Mrs Sonnen.  The club is well attended by students across all year groups who use their mathematical skills to help maximise their car's performance each week in a computerized, formula one style race.

The club also participates in the Maths In Motion Global Challenge, where Chatham &  Clarendon pupils have historically made it through to the grand final.  We are delighted that the school recently won the knock-out stage of this year's challenge, with team "The Game" (Rohit Antonygnaneswaran, Ruby Lydford, Lydia Nottingham and Ninjing Wang) moving on to the semi-final.  We wish them every success!

2017-18 school awards were received by:

Henry Elmore:    1st Prize for greatest number of points over the duration of this year's club

Rohit Antonygnaneswaran:  2nd Prize

Lydia Nottingham:   3rd Prize

Crazy Cadbury's Team (Henry Elmore, Sam Molyneux, Sebastian Hodge):   Winning team based on average score

Kirsty Clapham:   Commitment Award for excellent attendance and dedication to the club week after week

Paul Ashman:   Best New Driver
