Technology in Art

9th March 2018

On Saturday 3rd March students from Chatham and Clarendon Grammar school hosted ‘Technology in Art’ an educational 3D printing studio at the Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate. The event was open to the public and aimed at 8 to 14 year olds.

The event was popular and attracted a large number of participants from members of the public. Participants were able to take part in a variety of activities including 3D printing with pens, the “Design a Ship” competition, and were able to engage with several desktop Ultimakers on display at the event.

The event wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication to sharing 3D printing with the community, and of the CCGS Student and Staff volunteers. Thanks go out to the Turner Contemporary for their hosting of the event and to the CREATE EDUCATION team for the sponsorship of our community work.

A really fun workshop! It was really cool and fun to make a 3D octopus! Thanks! - A young participant at the event

Students were very helpful in setting up and running the event! Thanks! - The Turner Contemporary Event Team
