Gardening Club day out at RHS Wisley

5th December 2017

The CCGS Gardening Club enjoyed a day out at RHS Wisley on the 4th Dec, decorating a real 6ft Christmas Tree with their competition winning entry. The Gardening Club had to read and interpret the C C Moore poem 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, and design Christmas decorations inspired by the famous Christmas poem. 12 students from Yr7 plus staff travelled to RHS Wisley via the school minibus and spent a wonderful day walking around the gardens, looking at rare and exotic plants in the Glass House and gathering ideas and inspiration for our own little garden back at Chatham House.

Their winning entry focused on Sugar Plums (histories oldest recorded sweets), the sleeping mice, snow flakes and the reindeer. Staff at RHS Wisley were impressed that the students have made all the decorations themselves and especially loved the Sugar Plums.
