Chaplain licensed

30th June 2012

On the 20th June 2012 the Rev Stefan Thomas (Head of RS) was licensed as Chaplain to the Chatham & Clarendon Grammar School Federation by the Bishop of Dover, Right Rev Trevor Willmott during the Lower School Assembly in St George-the-Martyr Church.

During the service a Year 9 Student read from the Gospel of Mark on the Parable of the Sower and a Year 12 Student played the church organ before and after the service. Bishop Trevor addressed the school and explained the significance of a chaplain in an educational institution.

The Role of the Chaplain is to provide spiritual support to all faiths and none and a Chaplaincy Room (a Multi Faith Space Room) is being developed for students, staff and parents to use whether for prayer, contemplation or to find a moment of peace.
