For the seventeenth year, on Monday 28th November, a coach load of Sixth Form students went up to London to attend a Sixth Form Student Politics Conference at the Methodist Central Hall Westminster.

The speakers ranged from the veteran Labour politician, Tony Benn (pictured), the Rt.Hon. Alan Duncan MP, Minister for International Development, the Rt. Hon John Bercow MP, the Speaker of the House of Commons, former Home Secretary the Rt. Hon. David Blunkett MP, Simon Hughes MP, Deputy Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Sir George Young MP, Leader of the House of Commons and Nigel Farage MEP, Leader of UKIP and parliamentary candidate for South Thanet in 2005.

After the Conference the students walked across to the Houses of Parliament to listen to Debates in both the House of Commons and the House of Lords before returning to Thanet. The photo of the entire group was taken in the historic Westminster Hall.
