Top Universities Beckon for Students

18th October 2011

The world renowned universities of Oxford and Cambridge beckon for six of our sixth form students.
They hope to emulate former students in the last two years who have gone on to study subjects ranging from English and History to Natural Sciences, Chemistry and Medicine.
They are: - Benedict Hawkins who hopes to study English at Queens, Cambridge; Dheshendran Padiachey who hopes to study Economics and Management at Balliol, Oxford; Sophie Geraghty who hopes to study English at St Edmund Hall, Oxford; head student Jethro West who hopes to study Mathematics and Philosophy at Open, Oxford; Hakim Horton, who hopes to study Law at St Catherine’s, Oxford; and David Hewett, who hopes to study Chemistry at Pembroke, Oxford.
Their places are consequent upon them reaching their target grades in this summer’s A levels .
Mick Moody, director of the federated sixth form, said: “All these students have attended days at the universities and preparation days within school. Further preparation will hone interview skills in London during November prior to the real interviews in December.
“We wish them and all our sixth form students well in the crucial weeks and months ahead before the summer exams.”
