U14 v QEGS Netball WON 13-6 28th Jan

The U14s comfortably won their first netball fixture of 2014.  At half time the girls were only a few goals ahead, however with time to practice (whilst the U15s took the netball court), the team focussed on centre pass strategies.  This clearly worked as the girls excelled in the second half, taking a greater lead and finishing 13 - 6. Key players were Tiegan Hewitt in defence, and our shooters Angelica Barnes and Amber Butler.

U15 v QEGS Netball LOST 9-10 28th Jan - written by Katie Knight

It was the first game of the season for the U15 team and they knew playing QEGS would be tough, yet they went out strong and immediately scored 3 goals. However, QEGS unfortunately caught up and scored 8. Therefore at half time the score 8-3. Heads did not go down and in the second half, the girls were on top form and managed to score a further 6 goals. Despite this amazing catch up, QEGS had scored 2 more goals meaning the final score was 10-9, a disappointing finish for the girls, but they are very proud of their performance in the second half.

1st VII v St Edmunds, Canterbury LOST 22-14 30th Jan

A competitive match where CCGS struggled in the first half.  This was not reflective of the team's ability and the girls started the second half 8 goals behind.  Through determination, hard work and focussed team play both teams scored 6 more goals.  Despite these efforts the final score was 22 - 14.

2nd VII v St Edmunds, Canterbury WON 15 - 10 30th Jan

This was the 2nds first match of the season.  With lots of new players representing CCGS we could see the potential.  The girls comfortably led throughout the match, winning 15 - 10.  Strong performances from our centre Tilly Ellis-Jarman, and shooters - Melissa Moore and Georgia Dent.  Well done girls.

U15 v St Edmunds WON 14 -10

The U15 netball team played away at St. Edmunds on Tuesday. The team made a excellent fast start and stormed into an early 7-1 lead. St Edmunds fought back in the second half but CCGS defended hard and the final score was a 14-10 win. Amie Tonkiss scored some fantastic goals with Katie Knight, Brogan Hood and Caoimhe Madine making some inspired interceptions and passes into the circle.
