House Drama Competition

28th January 2014

'Friday 24th January saw the House Drama competition take place.  Instead of having a Lower School and Upper School competition, for the first time students from year 7 to 13 all took part together which brought new challenges for the House Captains.

Mann Somerville kicked off the day with a play based on the game of Cluedo.  There were good performances from all students, especially Harrison Mogg-Walls, who won Best Supporting Junior Actor.

Knight Heath followed with their take on Oliver Twist. Again a strong performance by everyone with Djamel Turner, who played Oliver, taking the top prize of Best Junior Actor.

Megan Campbell, who won the Best Script prize, brought us the very funny Rothschild Pearce performance of Captain Super Amazing, earning Peter Clapham the award of Best Supporting Senior Actor.

It was Alex Lockwood’s day though as House Captain for Thomas Sharman; she not only took away the Best Director’s prize but together with her house volunteers, won the Best Overall House Performance for the play the Carltons and Monroes with Sophie LLugiqi winning best Senior Actor.

Congratulations to all participants for giving up their time to support their house and all House Captains and their teams for all their hard work making this competition such a success.

Our thanks go to Mrs Judge and Mrs Myhil for making the important adjudicating decisions of the day and Mr Gibbons for all his help.’
