Kent School Games Badminton

5th December 2013

U14 girls

Team: 1. Isha Mandke, 2. Angelica Barnes, 3. Amber Potter, 4. Megan Griffin

Our team played 3 schools and beat Ellington and Ursuline 5-0. Unfortunately we were beaten by Dane Court which meant we came runners up in the tournament.  The girls can highly commended for their fair play and strong team spirit.

2nd overall

U16 girls

Team: 1. Amie Tonkiss, 2. Katie Knight, 3. Angela, 4. Thea

The tournament was split into two Pools.  The girls played 10 matches in their Pool winning all 5 matches against Ellington & Hereson, and winning 4 of their 5 matches against Charles Dickens.  As the winners of Pool B we played the winners of Pool A – St Lawrence.  Our first two games were so close the spectators were on tender hooks at every shot.  Both Amie and Katie won their singles matches 15-14.  We were beaten in our 3 doubles games resulting in CCGS coming 2nd overall.

U14 boys

Team: 1. Josh Attwell, 2. Elliot Fox, 3. Ethan McDaid, 4. Shivay Sachdeva.

The year 9 Badminton Team won the district tournament, winning every match in the process. They now progress to a county tournament where we are hopeful they will have even more success.

U16 boys

Team: 1.Jack Field, 2.Sam Chivilo, 3.Tyler Cooper,  4.Nathan Taylor

The four year 10 boys fought hard in all their matches winning through to the finals to play Dane Court.  They won one game and lost four but resulted in coming 2nd overall.  There is another opportunity for these students to play in this tournament next year.
