Annual Sixth Form Languages Conference

14th November 2013

The University of Kent held its annual Sixth Form Languages Conference on Wednesday 13th November.  Twenty Year 12 students from the school who are studying a language at A-level were able to attend this event.  The students attended various lectures delivered by academic staff of the university.  These included sessions on authors such as Franz Kafka and Victor Hugo, Spanish theatre and cinema and also an introduction to the Italian language.  In the afternoon there were informative talks on European studies and linguistics.  The day enabled the students to experience life at university and will have hopefully encouraged some of them to study language modules in the future.
