2013 MakeIT! Furniture winners announced at the National School of Furniture in Oxford

The MakeIT! Furniture awards for 2013 were held at The National School of Furniture at Oxford & Cherwell Valley College as part of the Summer Show on the 19th June, bringing together industry experts, teachers and students to recognise Britain’s emerging design talent in the furniture industry.

Led by Proskills, the MakeIT! Furniture programme is designed to engage and show students, teachers and parents that the furniture industry is an exciting, dynamic industry and provides a good career choice and encourages students to develop their design skills.

Charlie Oyediran from Chatham & Clarendon House Grammar School in Kent was chosen as the winner of the year 12 catergory of the furniture competition because he delivered throughout, combining an innovative approach and attention to detail and an excellent understanding of the brief of the programme. Tom Gavriel  also from Chatham & Clarendon House Grammar School, coming runner up in the year 12 catergory. Jodie Wonford from Chatnam & Clarendon House Grammar School won the prize for ‘Best Design Development Process.The  2012/13 MakeIT!.
