Trip to Disneyland Paris

3rd February 2011

Students enjoyed monster fun when they teamed up with a range of giant Disney characters including Sully from Monsters Inc.

The party of 76 14 and 15-year-olds from Clarendon House Grammar School in Ramsgate met the larger-than-life stars of decades of family films during a three-day educational and fun visit to Disneyland in Paris.

They attended a series of seminars delivered by lecturers from the Study Experience team which works with the Disney resort.

The students investigated life behind the scenes at the fun park and found out how it is managed, discussing budgets, planning and building, marketing and finance, staffing levels, risk assessments and a range of other topics.

The Year 10 students stayed in one of the Disney hotels, saw the acclaimed Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show and enjoyed a full day in the park, where Space Mountain was voted their most popular white knuckle ride.

Assistant head teacher Matthew Morley, who was among staff accompanying the group, said: “The lectures gave our girls a fascinating insight into how Disneyland is run and various aspects of its operation. It was a successful trip that mixed learning and pleasure.”
