Travel to School in the Sixth Form

BUS TRAVEL

Kent 16+ Travel Saver

This ticket gives all day and all year travel on most public buses in Kent

If you’re aged 16 – 19 and in full time education you can apply for this ticket.
Apply by 14 July 2019 to make sure your pass is ready for the next term.

When you can use it

The pass offers unlimited bus travel at any time of the day 7 days a week. It is valid from the start of the school year in 2019 to 31 August 2020.

Cost

£400 for a full year which can be paid online. Or spread the cost in monthly instalments by making 8 monthly payments between August 19 and March 20. (A £10 admin fee applies for this option- added to the first payment taken).

If you apply later in the year you can spread the cost over the number of months left until March 2020

How to apply

Applications can be made online at kent.gov.uk/16plustravelsaver
Applications can be made from 03.06.19 through to 24.05.20.

After you apply

Passes will be sent to school for collection.

Getting to school or college on the first day of term

While you are waiting for your pass, you will be responsible for buying a ticket from the bus operator.

TRAIN TRAVEL
Unfortunately there is currently no support from KCC to cover the costs of train travel to school.


Please note that if a student is eligible for the 16-19 Bursary then part of, or all, transport costs (including train travel) may be met by this fund.
