Kent 16+ Bus Pass

This ticket gives all day and all year travel on most public buses in Kent

If you’re aged 16 – 19 and in full time education then you may well qualify for the scheme. Apply by 13 July 2018 to make sure your pass is ready for the next term.

When you can use it

The pass offers unlimited bus travel at any time of the day 7 days a week. It is valid from the start of the school year in 2018 to 31 August 2019.

Cost

£400 for a full year or split the cost and buy 2 half year passes.

(If you are planning to apply for the 16-19 Bursary then please see the CCGS information sheet with regards to travel and the Bursary)

How to apply

All applications and payments are now made direct to KCC. You can apply via the KCC website. You will need all of your details (name, address, establishment etc), a passport style photograph in the right format and a credit or a debit card. Alternatively you can apply by post.

After you apply

Once your application has been processed, you will receive an email or letter as confirmation.

Getting to school or college on the first day of term

KCC no longer send letters for travel on the first day of term. You will be able to travel without one and the pass will be available to collect from school or college at the start of term – as long as your application was made by 13th July.

TRAIN TRAVEL

Please note that if a student is eligible for the 16-19 Bursary then part of, or all, transport costs (including train travel) may be met by this fund.
